  • For children, we collect additional data, including medical history, immunisation records, dietary needs, and other details relevant to delivering personalised care. 

 

For children, other data points may include their Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN), custody information, family details, and photographic records from their participation in activities. 

How We Collect Information 

We generally collect personal information directly from you via forms, online communication, emails, written correspondence, or phone calls. Photographs, videos, and children's work samples are gathered at our centres, and emergency contact details are provided by parents or guardians. 

 

In rare cases, if it is not feasible to collect data directly, we may gather information indirectly, with notification given whenever possible. 

Consequences of Withholding Information 

BHELC takes its responsibility to protect your personal information seriously. We collect, use, and hold this information for purposes related to: 

 

  • Providing early childhood education services. 

 

  • Promoting child protection and development. 

 

  • Documenting children's learning progress. 

 

  • Managing enrolment and communication regarding our services.

Direct Marketing

Job Applicants

In some instances, BHELC may collect sensitive information, such as racial or ethnic origin, or details about your child’s medical conditions or special needs, which we collect as part of the required regulations for childcare.   • additional personal information that you provide to us directly or indirectly through your use of the website, associated applications, associated social media platforms or accounts from which you permit us to collect information; and  

 

  • any other information requested by us or provided by you.  

 

We may log information about your access and use of our Website, including through the use of internet cookies, your communication with our website, the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using and the domain name of your Internet Service Provider.  

Information Security 

Your personal data is stored securely, either electronically or in paper form, at our centre.  We may use third-party services to store or process data, including overseas providers, but access to your data is strictly controlled and only authorised personnel can access it.

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated version of this policy.
